Warning. Ragdoll Kittens and Shiny Objects.

Ragdoll Kittens and Shiny Objects.

October 7th 07.

We received an e-mail today from Jo and Phil of Middlewich, Cheshire about one of their kittens Kenko ( Happiness leandor.) about an ear ring he swallowed while being fussed and stroked.
Jo pointed out that they do not leave stuff lying about the home that could be dangerous for their kittens, and keep a very watchful eye on them what they are getting up to.
However Kenko was just nuzzling Phil's ear, and some how worked the diamond earring out and promptly swallowed it.
Being  a concerned Mum and Dad they took him to the Vets and 4 x-rays later, followed by major stomach surgery costing in excess of £2000 the ear ring was recovered.
Kenko is fully recovered and back to his normal self now, it is a warning to us all who own Ragdolls that the kittens are really into everything  you are doing and really have to be watched.
It is wise to have good insurance for your ragdoll kittens, certainly in the first couple of years of their life, when they are most likely to have an accident.

Note.
You also have to watch them with plastic carrier bags, bin bags etc they do seem to like having a chew at them if they are left lying around.
